Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2026-03-23T02:36Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
GOES: CCOR-1
Activity ID: 2026-03-23T02:36:00-CME-001 (version 3)
Source Location: S17W65
Active Region Number: 14392
Note Keyword:
3P: 3-part structure CME
COL: Possible collision with previous CME
DFL: Likely deflection of the event within the FOV
FOV: Front Bright front; may be evidence of pileup
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
CHP: CME - Coronal Hole Proximity
Source Signature Keyword:
PEA: Post eruption arcade
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
O: Other
Note: CME observed to the SW in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and GOES CCOR-1, and as a partial halo to the S/SW in STEREO A COR2. This CME immediately follows the larger CME 2026-03-22T23:24Z, and it is very likely outflow or a streamer blowout following that eruption from AR 14392 (S17W65), corroborated via coronagraph triangulation in the swpc_cat tool. The field line loops over AR 14392, which initially began to erupt around 2026-03-22T23:34Z in GOES SUVI 171/195/284, see a second movement starting around 2026-03-23T01:31Z likely responible for this secondary, slower front from that eruption. That first eruption is associated with a C1.5 flare as observed in GOES SUVI 131, which is not linked to this second front.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Triangulation between SOHO LASCO C3 and STEREO A COR2, using later frames only due to observed acceleration when including early frames. The CME shape is very distorted in STEREO A COR2 compared to SOHO LASCO, appearing much wider. Using STEREO A COR2's width, the leading edge still tracks very well between COR2 and C3. |
